The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office filed an amended complaint Monday providing more details about the criminal vehicular homicide charges against Amy Senser.

Senser, 45, of Edina, is charged in the hit-and-run accident that killed Anousone Phanthavong, 38, of Roseville on Aug. 23. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman explained at a news conference that the cell phone records and the reports of witnesses will help show Senser knew she struck Phanthavong shortly after 11 that evening but did not stop to help, nor did she quickly notify authorities.

“Clearly, she was in the area, clearly she was around after the accident,” Freeman said. “She didn’t go right home. We have to prove by circumstantial evidence that she knew she struck someone with her car. There is no other explanation than she knew. I think the facts show what she knew and when she knew it.”

The amended complaint was issued after Senser’s attorney said he would file a motion asking that the criminal complaint be dismissed for lack of probable cause, Freeman said.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for March 9.
