The woman who committed armed robberies in store parking lots along Lake Street was sentenced to 41 months in prison.

Octavia Marberry, 21, of Minneapolis, also was sentenced to 57 months on a second aggravated robbery, but that one will be stayed as long as she remains law-abiding during a 10-year probation after she is released from prison.

Marberry's brother was part of one of the robberies and he was shot and killed by a citizen who asked the man to drop the purse. Instead, Marberry's brother advanced toward the citizen with a gun and the citizen shot in self-defense.
