The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office charged two men Thursday with a home robbery that ended with gunshots by pursuing police.

Cortez Devon Stanley, 23, and Eric Antonio Dodd, 23, both with unknown addresses were both charged with aiding/abetting aggravated robbery, aiding/abetting first-degree burglary and aiding/abetting second-degree assault. Stanley also was charged with prohibited person in possession of a firearm. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon at a home in the 4000 block of Bryant Avenue North in Minneapolis.

According to the criminal complaint (PDF), Dodd knocked on the door and, because he was known by the family living there, was let in. After some small talk, Dodd pulled out a gun and demanded money from one of the adults. Stanley also came through the door with a gun at that point, too.

The complaint (PDF) states Stanley said the adult man was moving too much and hit him in the head with a gun. They took more than $200 from the man’s pocket as well as a container with marijuana. They fled in a gray Nissan. Police pulled them over a short distance away and the men ran. Police fired when one of the men turned with the pistol in his hand, but no one was struck.
