Ramp assault defendant charged with more assaults
The man charged with sexually assaulting a woman in a Minneapolis parking ramp was charged with two more sexual assault counts with different victims, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Peijan Lamont Hodges, 22, was charged Wednesday with first-degree criminal sexual conduct for an assault on a woman a couple of hours before the other attack in Ramp C near the Target Center. He also was charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in an incident in a downtown skyway. He made his first court appearance Thursday on the new charges.
According to the criminal complaint, about 1 p.m. on Sept. 26, a woman was walking in the skyway from the City Center toward the parking ramp on First Avenue, when Hodges approached her, asked for a dollar and made a lewd comment. When the woman turned away, he grabbed her buttock. When she turned to confront him, he grabbed her breast, the complaint states. She immediately contacted a security officer in City Center, who called police.
In the other new charge, a woman was walking from her car to the elevators of Ramp C at Second Avenue between Third and Fourth Streets about 1:40 p.m. on Oct. 7. Hodges asked for a dollar and then grabbed the woman in a bear hug, forcing her to the ground between two cars. The woman fought with him and yelled for help and a man getting off the elevator yelled at Hodges, who fled, according to the complaint.
Last week, the county attorney’s office charged Hodges with four counts of first and second-degree criminal sexual conduct for sexually assaulting a woman in her car in Ramp C. That attack occurred about two hours after the woman he grabbed in the bear hug and forced to the ground.
