Wednesday, February 25, 2015

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office charged a Waconia woman with stealing money from the Metro Transit Police Department’s evidence room.

Jerri Landis, 52, was charged with one count of theft. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance at 1:30 p.m. on March 10.

In December, department employees discovered money was missing from envelopes in the evidence room safe. In late December and again in January, Landis admitted to investigators she had taken more than $1,000 in cash, something she began doing in March or April 2014, according to the criminal complaint. Landis worked for Metro Transit.
