County Attorney Freeman, 200 staff to visit National Night Out events

Friday, July 29, 2016

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman will visit National Night Out gatherings throughout North Minneapolis Tuesday evening.

At the same time, more than 200 staff members of the county attorney’s office will fan out across the county, as they did last year. They will talk to people at large events as well as neighborhood block parties.

“We know that public safety and criminal justice issues are drawing intense interest among the residents of Hennepin County and we think our people are well qualified to listen to their concerns and provide insights,” Freeman said. “We are strong supporters of National Night Out because people going out and visiting with their neighbors builds the bonds that can help prevent crime.”

Using the theme, Strong Families, Strong Communities, Freeman and the rest of the staff will talk about the programs such as be@school and curfew that help families and their children thrive. But all the county attorney’s staff will be answering the questions residents might have and listening to complaints or suggestions on how the office could do its job better.
