Stowaway boy may soon be going home

The 10-year-old boy who stowed away on an airline to Las Vegas will be returned to his Minneapolis home as soon as services can be arranged for him, Hennepin County District Court Judge Joseph Klein ruled Wednesday.

It was not known how soon that would occur because there is a waiting list for those types of services for behavioral problems. In the meantime, the boy will continue to stay at the facility where he has been living for more than 150 days, Judge Klein said. There will be expanded visits between the boy and his parents to include Saturdays, the judge said. The next court hearing was set for May 28 at 11 a.m.

The boy was nine years old when he managed to board the flight in early October without a ticket. Delta flight attendants became suspicious during the flight and authorities met the boy at the Las Vegas airport and eventually he was returned to Minnesota.
