St. Paul woman charged in Augie's Cabaret murder

A St. Paul woman was charged with second-degree murder in the weekend shooting death at Augie’s Cabaret, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Tuesday.

Jasmine Nicole Jones, 29, was charged with the single count in the death of Lakisha Neal, 32, of Minneapolis in a shooting that occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday.

According to the criminal complaint, witnesses said the two women have been feuding for a while.  Saturday morning, Jones approached Neal in the club at 424 Hennepin Ave. and they got into an argument that quickly became physical. Bouncers at the club separated them. The two women then moved towards the back of the club, where Jones pulled out a handgun and shot Neal once in the head, killing her, the complaint states.

Jones later turned herself into the Hennepin County Jail and brought a 9 mm handgun with her, which is being tested, according to the complaint, to determine if it is the murder weapon.
