Defendant in drugging and molesting of girl pleads guilty
Ezra Taylor pleaded guilty to all three counts of criminal sexual conducted related to drugging the soda of three girls at his daughter’s sleepover, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Friday.
Taylor, 39, of Minneapolis, entered the straight plea to one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct at an omnibus hearing Friday. There were no conditions to the plea and he is scheduled for sentencing at 10 a.m. Nov. 10 before Hennepin County District Court Judge Jay Quam.
“This is a good result from a disgusting crime,” Freeman said. “Our young victim will be spared from having to testify and we all hope she can get the treatment she needs to help her cope with this ugly incident. Meanwhile, we will be pushing for the severest possible sentence for Mr. Taylor that the law allows.”
According to the criminal complaint, Taylor put crushed up sleeping pills in the soda pop of his daughter and her two young friends one night over the summer. In court, Taylor admitted he carried the victim, who was under 13 years old, to another part of the house and molested her.
