McMahon charged in shooting death near parking ramp


A man arrested in a St. Paul homeless shelter has been charged in the fatal shooting of Justin Williams, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Monday.

Jermaine James McMahon was charged with a single count of second-degree murder. According to the criminal complaint, McMahon ran up behind Williams as he was walking near 1010 Currie Ave. about 6 a.m. on March 27. McMahon shot the 28-year-old Bloomington man five times.

McMahon will make his first court appearance Tuesday. The MnCIS number on the case is 27CR158872.
