Robbery victim dies, defendant now charged with murder


The charges in a parking ramp stabbing have been upgraded to second-degree murder after the victim died from her wound today.

According to the criminal complaint, Benjamin Love, 45, of Minneapolis, stabbed the woman as he was trying to steal the purses of the victim and her friends as they were returning to their car in a downtown Minneapolis parking ramp July 15. The women resisted and one victim was stabbed on the hand, but his stabbing of the other woman punctured her heart.

Love is being held on $1 million bail.
