Hennepin County Attorney's Office response to 2021 carjacking and robbery detail

A recent carjacking and robbery detail announced by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Minneapolis Police Department, stated there were “46 arrests” and “69-felony-level charges” made between Jan. 26-28. Our office has been presented with 12 cases thus far, five of which have been charged. Law enforcement details of this nature will result in arrests for a variety of offenses.
- Craig Stevens, 48, of Minneapolis, charged with fifth-degree drug possession, incident occurred January 27th at 3704 Minnehaha Ave. in Minneapolis. Case number 27-CR-21-1783.
- Teddy Williams, 37, of Minneapolis, charged with fifth-degree drug possession, and two counts of fleeing a police officer, incident occurred on January 28th at 31st Street in Minneapolis. Case number 27-CR-21-1986.
- Trevaughn Bradley, 23, of Minneapolis, charged with two counts of fifth-degree drug possession, incident occurred on January 28th on Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis. Case number 27-CR-21-1999.
- Douglas Burkhalter, 22, of Minneapolis, charged with fifth-degree sale, incident occurred on January 28th at 2535 Clinton Ave. S. Case number 27-CR-21-1991.
- Peter Nyuma, 20, of Minneapolis, charged with fifth-degree drug sale, incident occurred January 28th at 2535 Clinton Ave. S. Case number 27-CR-21-1989.
As always, if the investigations into any of the others arrested result in cases being submitted to the county attorney’s office, they will be reviewed for possible felony charges.
