The first robbery was about 9:20 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the Holiday store at 11430 Jefferson Court N. in Champlin. The robbers used guns and took cash, and in this one, tobacco products, and fled in a stolen gold Toyota Sienna mini-van.
The second robbery occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Nov.18 at the store located at 8517 Jefferson Lane N. in Brooklyn Park. In that case, Thomas pistol whipped one of the clerks and the clerk began to fight back and was shot, according to the criminal complaint. The shot paralyzed the clerk.
About four hours later, around 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 19, the Holiday store at 600 Boone Ave. N in Golden Valley was robbed by all three, the complaints state. They left in the mini-van, but police pursued them, eventually losing them near Dowling and Oliver Avenues North in Minneapolis. Eventually, fingerprints lead to two of the suspects and they were all arrested on Dec. 17.
