Hennepin County Attorney’s Office secures criminal sexual conduct guilty verdict

A Hennepin County jury returned a guilty verdict Wednesday against Shayvon Johnathan Bright, 24, on one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

“My thoughts are with the survivor and her family,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “Their courage throughout the entire process aided the successful prosecution of Mr. Bright. Our office is grateful for their cooperation and to the members of the jury for their service.”

Mr. Bright’s sentencing is currently scheduled for Jan. 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
