Hennepin County Attorney’s Office secures guilty verdicts related to drive-by shooting

A Hennepin County jury found Shane Joseph Gross, 38, guilty on five charges stemming from a November 2023 drive-by shooting in Minneapolis.

Mr. Gross was convicted on one count of committing a drive-by shooting toward an occupied motor vehicle, one count of prohibited possession of a firearm, and three counts of second-degree assault.

“This incident left one victim with physical injuries and could easily have ended with lives being lost due to Mr. Gross’s actions,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “His actions demand accountability to protect community safety, and I am pleased our office succeeded in securing guilty verdicts on all five counts against him.”

Mr. Gross is currently scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 18 at 1:15 p.m.
