Quintin Hudson pleads guilty to two charges from 2023 crash
10/21/2024
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office today secured a guilty plea from Quintin Leon Hudson, 21, to one count of fleeing a peace officer resulting in death and one count of fleeing a peace officer resulting in great bodily harm. Under the terms of the plea, Mr. Hudson will be sentenced to 165 months.
Mr. Hudson was charged after causing the death of Emily Gerding and severe injury to her husband, John Gerding, while fleeing from a traffic stop in July 2023.
“Emily should still be alive,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “Mr. Hudson’s actions took her from our community, devastated her family, and left her husband, John, with life-threatening injuries. This resolution holds Mr. Hudson accountable and is necessary to protect our community.”
The sentencing hearing is currently scheduled for Dec. 12, 2024.
