Minneapolis man pleads guilty, sentenced for 2024 homicide

Miguel Araiza Ugalde, 32, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of second-degree unintentional murder in the death of Reid Christopher Johnson in January 2024.
Immediately following the plea, Mr. Ugalde was sentenced to 186 months running concurrently with his incarceration in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
“Mr. Ugalde is being held accountable for his role in Reid Johnson’s death,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “Our thoughts are with Reid’s family as this prosecution comes to a close.”
Mr. Ugalde has 277 days of credit for time already served.
