Hennepin County Attorney’s Office secures guilty verdict in second-degree murder trial

Larondo Connell Willis, 38, was convicted of second-degree intentional murder for the death of Eddie Winters in March 2024. The verdict was delivered Tuesday.

The second-degree intentional murder charge was the lone count Mr. Willis faced in the trial that began on April 14.

“My thoughts are with Eddie’s loved ones as they process this guilty verdict,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “Mr. Willis is being held accountable for his actions, and we will seek to a lengthy sentence due to the severity of his crime and to protect the public.”

Mr. Willis is currently scheduled to be sentenced at 11:30 a.m. on May 12.
