Kristi McNeilly sentenced to 180 days in the workhouse, pay restitution

On January 10, criminal defense attorney Kristi McNeilly was sentenced to 180 days in the workhouse and ordered to pay restitution of $15,000 for swindling one of her clients back in November 2018, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Tuesday.

In addition to workhouse time and restitution, 46-year-old McNeilly, of Woodbury, will be on probation for three years and cannot have a fiduciary relationship with clients, nor handle their funds.

McNeilly was convicted of theft-by-swindle on October 25.
