Justin Brun sentenced to 99 months after August guilty pleas

Justin Lee Brun, 22, was sentenced Monday to 99 months after pleading guilty to three counts of first-degree aggravated robbery stemming from two separate carjacking incidents in 2021 and 2022.

The cases were charged as aggravated robberies due to the carjacking charge not being created by the Legislature until 2023.

“Mr. Brun put lives at risk in both of these incidents,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “The outcomes could have been even worse. This sentence delivers accountability for Mr. Brun and appropriately protects the community from him in the coming years.”

Mr. Brun has 1167 days of credit for time served.
