Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman was elected president-elect of the National District Attorneys Association at their annual convention Sunday.
This year’s convention, which draws about 500 people, is in Boston. Freeman will be hosting next summer’s convention in Minneapolis and will be vying for president of the 66-year-old organization, comprised of the elected prosecutors from throughout the United States.
“I am honored to be selected by America’s prosecutors to this position,” Freeman said. “And I am really pleased to be hosting next year’s convention in Minnesota.”
The NDAA is the voice of the local prosecutors at the national level, meeting regularly with members of congress and the Department of Justice to voice the opinion of prosecutors on public safety and criminal justice issues.
