Update on Liu Qiangdong case

The Minneapolis Police Department’s investigation into a sexual assault allegation against Liu Qiangdong has been turned over to prosecutors, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Thursday.

Freeman said the police department completed its initial investigation. Now his prosecutors will review all of the evidence and make a decision on whether to bring charges. There is no deadline for making that decision.

As is the practice of the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, there will be no further comment until that decision is made.
