Fast food manager charged with sexually assaulting 14-year-old

1/22/2019

A Maple Grove man who works as a manager at McDonald's has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl who worked at the restaurant, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Tuesday.

Andrew Otero Albertorio, 24, has been charged with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim 13-15 years old by a person in a position of authority. Albertorio will make his first court appearance this afternoon.

“These sexual assaults if proven in court reflect deplorable conduct,” said Freeman. “A 24-year-old manager abusing his position of authority upon a young girl is wrong. Thankfully, the legislature has made such conduct a serious felony and rightfully so. The Maple Grove Police Department and our office will work hard to make this man accountable for his actions.”

According to the criminal complaint, on Jan. 2, Maple Grove police responded to a report of a sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. Her parents told police that their daughter worked at McDonald’s and that her 24-year-old manager had sexually assaulted her on numerous occasions.

The victim began working at the restaurant last summer. She reported that her manager, Albertorio, would often flirt with her at work. In November, Albertorio attempted to kiss her, but she pushed him away and said she believed it was wrong because he was so much older than her and he was also her manager.

Albertorio discussed having sex with the victim, but she told him she did not want to because she was not 16 and he would get into trouble. She stated that Albertorio was respectful of this until early December when he cornered her in the cooler at McDonald's. She said she did not want to have sex with him, but felt pressured into the act. Over the course of the next month, Albertorio had sex with the victim in numerous locations, according to the complaint.
