After fleeing Minnesota, Carlton Troutman was extradited from Michigan and he made his first appearance in court Friday for a hit-and-run collision in Edina, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Monday.
At the Friday hearing, bail was set at $300,000 and his next appearance was scheduled for April 22.
Troutman, 26, of Flint, MI, was charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon when his car struck a 17-year-old girl as she attempted to board a school bus in Edina on Jan. 23. The victim was taken to the hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
A nationwide warrant was issued for Troutman March 11. He was arrested in Michigan March 13 and brought back to Minnesota March 26.
