Tyreik Perkins sentenced for involvement in 2019 fatal shooting

Tyreik Perkins, 22, of Roseville, was sentenced this morning to 86-months in prison as part of a plea agreement on April 20, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Perkins pleaded guilty to aiding an offender in relation to an apparent robbery gone awry, in which 21-year-old Malik Smith of Brooklyn Center was fatally shot Dec. 19, 2019. Perkins will receive 252 days of credit for time served.
There are two additional co-defendants on this case: 22-year-old James Moore of Minneapolis, who, on Oct. 29, 2020, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for shooting and killing Smith. Moore was sentenced Nov. 23, 2020 and received 360-months in prison. And, Destiny Bradshaw, 20, of Brooklyn Park, who pleaded guilty to aiding an offender Dec. 18, 2020, and has a scheduled sentencing date of June 1, 2021.
