Lee receives 300-month prison sentence for fatally shooting man at gas station

Jomoy Lee, 18, of Minneapolis, was sentenced this morning to 300 months in prison as part of a plea agreement made in July, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
On July 29, Lee pleaded guilty to intentional second-degree murder and felon in possession for fatally shooting a 17-year-old male at a Minneapolis gas station in September 2020. Lee was present for sentencing Monday, but did not provide a statement to the court.
The second shooter involved in the incident, Kejuan Haywood, 18, of Minneapolis, currently faces intentional second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder charges. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 31 at 9 a.m.
