Three juveniles have been charged with robbery and aggravated assaults in robberies of gas stations over three days in November, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Quayzhan Thomas, 17, and El’evoun Wren, 17, both of Minneapolis were charged with robberies of Holiday Station Stores in Champlin, Brooklyn Park and Golden Valley. Rashad Collins, 16, of Minneapolis, was charged in the Champlin and Golden Valley cases.
The first robbery was about 9:20 p.m. on November 17 at the Holiday store at 11430 Jefferson Court North in Champlin. The robbers used guns and took cash, and in this one, tobacco products, and fled in a stolen gold Toyota Sienna mini-van.
The second robbery occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on November 18 at the store located at 8517 Jefferson Lane North in Brooklyn Park. In that case, Thomas pistol whipped one of the clerks and the clerk began to fight back and was shot, according to the criminal complaint. The shot paralyzed the clerk.
About four hours later, around 2:45 a.m. on November 19, the Holiday store at 600 Boone Avenue North in Golden Valley was robbed by all three, the complaints state. They left in the mini-van, but police pursued them, eventually losing them near Dowling and Oliver Avenues North in Minneapolis. Eventually, fingerprints lead to two of the suspects and they were all arrested on December 17.
