Minneapolis man pleads guilty to fatal shooting in front of Cup Foods

On October 4, Shantaello Christianson pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and felon in possession for fatally shooting 30-year-old Imez Wright in front of Cup Foods and the George Floyd Memorial on March 6, 2021.
As part of the plea negotiations, Christianson, 31, of Minneapolis, will receive 120 months for the first-degree manslaughter count and 60 months for being a felon in possession. The sentences will run concurrently.
Christianson is scheduled for sentencing on November 5 at 10 a.m.
In 2007, Christianson was convicted of first-degree aggravated robbery, in 2009 he was convicted of fifth-degree drug possession and in 2013 he was convicted of second-degree riot, all crimes which prohibit him from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
