Elsa Segura found guilty of all counts by Hennepin County jury

A Hennepin County jury found Elsa Segura guilty of all counts she faced for her involvement in the death of Monique Baugh on New Year’s Eve in 2019, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Monday.

Segura, 29, of Fridley, was convicted for aiding and abetting premeditated first-degree murder. The sentence for that is life in prison without the possibility of release.

She was also found guilty of aiding and abetting attempted premeditated first-degree murder, aiding and abetting kidnapping, and aiding and abetting first-degree murder while committing kidnapping.

Her sentencing has been scheduled for November 9 at 11 a.m.

“The heinous actions by the defendant were recognized by the jury, and she was found guilty for her involvement in the death of Ms. Baugh,” Freeman stated. "My thoughts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones as they continue to heal.”
