Hamilton and Johnson Sentenced to 420 Months in Prison

On December 19, Gregory Hamilton and Dantrell Johnson were each sentenced to 420 months in prison for an August 2021 murder, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Tuesday.

One victim impact statement was read into the record by the victim's aunt.

Hamilton, 26, and Johnson, 29, both pled guilty to Intentional Second-Degree Murder for the Benefit of a Gang on November 21. As part of the guilty plea, Hamilton and Johnson both agreed to the 420-month prison sentence. Hamilton's sentence was an upward durational departure from the sentencing guidelines.
