Aaron Hjermstad sentenced to 144-months in prison

On Feb. 2, Aaron Hjermstad was sentenced to 144-months in prison for multiple criminal sexual conduct charges he faced from four separate cases, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Wednesday. The 144 -months imposed was a presumptive sentence per Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines.

Hjermstad, 43, of Brooklyn Center, was found guilty on Nov. 18 of multiple charges. The following sentences were imposed, all of which will be served concurrently:

  • First-degree criminal sexual conduct (Case 27-CR-20-14427) – 144 months
  • Fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct (Case 27-CR-20-22978) – 365 days
  • Second-degree criminal sexual conduct (Case 27-CR-20-13613) – 91 months
  • Second-degree criminal sexual conduct (Case 27-CR-20-15321) – 36 months

In addition to prison time, Hjermstad must register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, and will be on conditional release for 10 years after he’s served his time in prison. He also received 73 days credit for time served.
