Suspected shooter in Mall of America incident case under review, charges declined for other suspect

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office is reviewing two cases investigated and submitted by the Bloomington Police of two known suspects believed to be involved in the shooting at the Mall of America on December 31, 2021.

Based on available evidence submitted to our office, it appears the shooter acted independently. Therefore, there is insufficient, admissible evidence for prosecutors to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Latrell Littles intentionally aided and abetted the shooter. As a result, we are declining to file charges against Littles.

The suspected shooter remains in custody and his case is currently being reviewed for charges.
