On October 26, Jawan Carroll was convicted by a Hennepin County jury of all nine counts charged for a shooting outside of a downtown Minneapolis nightclub that killed two people and injured others, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Wednesday.
The jury found Carroll guilty of two counts of intentional second-degree murder and seven counts of attempted second-degree murder.
“This was a completely senseless act of violence, and I am thankful that justice has been done in this case,” Freeman said. “To all of those impacted by this tragic incident, I hope that this verdict can start to bring you some closure.”
“I also want to thank the prosecution team and staff, as well as our criminal justice partners, for their excellent work on this case,” Freeman continued.
Sentencing is scheduled for December 12 at 1:30 p.m.
