No Fear or Favor: Hennepin County Attorney’s Office launches new web series to highlight legislative priorities

2/23/2024

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office today released the first video in a new web series that takes the audience behind the scenes of the Minnesota legislative session. The series will provide important context around issues being tackled by the legislature. The first video is available here:

EPISODE ONE: NO FEAR OR FAVOR

“No Fear or Favor” is a weekly series hosted by Intergovernmental Affairs Manager Jamael Lundy that provides essential updates on public safety bills and on the latest legislative developments impacting safety, equity, and justice in Hennepin County.

“We have a responsibility to advocate for legislation that improves lives, enhances public safety, and creates a more equitable and fair justice system,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “Our commitment to openness and transparency extends to our advocacy at the Capitol and this series will shed new light on what the legislature is working on.”

The first episode focuses on the office’s support for HF3398/SF3447, commonly referred to as the Victim Services Bill, which provides additional funding and resources for crime victims.

“Our work at the Capitol can make genuine improvements to people’s lives and to the justice system as a whole,” Intergovernmental Affairs Manager Jamael Lundy said. “This is an excellent opportunity to bring the public with us as we tackle the issues that impact our communities on a daily basis.”

Episodes will be released on YouTube and on the official Hennepin County Attorney’s Office social media accounts.
