Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty statement on Trans Day of Visibility

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty today attended OutFront Minnesota's "Trans Day of Visibility" event at the State Capitol. "International Transgender Day of Visibility" is observed yearly on March 31 to celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people and bring awareness to the discrimination and violence they face. County Attorney Moriarty released the following statement:
"All of our neighbors have the right to live authentically and free from the threat of violence. Unfortunately, members of the trans community are targets for violence in Minnesota and across the country. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office is committed to using all available and appropriate tools to enhance the safety of every resident in our community. Our pursuit of this goal is tireless and is no less than what trans Minnesotans deserve."
