Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty statement on Mall of America shooting sentence

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty released the following statement after TaeShawn Adams-Wright was sentenced to 367 months in prison for his role in a 2022 shooting at the Mall of America:

“My thoughts today are with the victims’ loved ones as they try to heal from such a devastating loss.  Mr. Adams-Wright engaged in gun violence that endangered the lives of countless people as they enjoyed their day at the Mall of America.  A long prison sentence is appropriate to sufficiently protect public safety.”
