Hennepin County Attorney’s Office statement on recent University of Minnesota violence

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office today released the following statement related to multiple recent incidents of violence on and near the University of Minnesota campus:

“We are coordinating with multiple law enforcement agencies related to recent violence on and around the University of Minnesota campus. Students have a right to feel and be safe on campus and we have offered our support in any capacity we're able to provide. While none of the incidents have yet been referred to our office for charging consideration, the investigations remain ongoing. Our office stands ready to expeditiously review any case referrals for appropriate charges when those referrals are made.”
