Hosted by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office in partnership with the cities of Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center, this event helps people reintegrate into society after fulfilling their sentences.
"Expungement brings us closer to a more just criminal legal system,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “When a sentence is complete, a pathway to rebuilding lives without unnecessary obstacles is in the interest of every member of our community. Removing these obstacles improves public safety as individuals secure jobs and housing for the next phase of their life.”
Event Overview
The Expungement Clinic will be staffed by lawyers and other employees of the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office. It is meant to expedite the pathway toward expungement for individuals with adult felony convictions originating from Hennepin County. We will also have attorneys present who can advise on seeking a pardon and expunging eviction records.
Nearly 300 people have attended the Hennepin County Attorney Office’s prior expungement clinics.
Eligibility
Only adult felony cases originating from Hennepin County are eligible for review at this event.
It is the policy of the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office that the office will not assist with cases involving child abuse, domestic assault, homicide, or sexual assault.
