Edwin Trudeau pleads guilty to aiding offender after murder of infant
2/24/2025
Edwin Cosmo Trudeau, 19, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of aiding an offender, accomplice after the fact, for attempting to help conceal the murder of an eight-month-old child in March 2024.
Under the terms of the agreement, his sentence will be capped at 86 months with the exact term to be argued at sentencing.
Esperanza Harding, 21, previously pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional murder for killing her eight-month-old child and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 6, 2025, at 1 p.m.
Under the terms of Ms. Harding’s plea, she will be sentenced to 384 months.
“My thoughts are with Mateo’s family,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “This was a devastating act that Mr. Trudeau attempted to help conceal. While nothing brings Mateo back to his family, both Mr. Trudeau and Ms. Harding are being held accountable for their actions.”
Mr. Trudeau’s sentencing is currently scheduled for May 5, 2025, at 1:15 p.m.
