Ahmed Abdi sentenced to 386 months for 2024 fatal shooting in Minneapolis
5/23/2025
Ahmed Ali Abdi, 38, was sentenced Friday to 386 months for the fatal shooting of Jabraun Hole on Aug. 19, 2024.
Earlier this month, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office secured guilty verdicts at trial on all three charges against Mr. Abdi:
- One count of second-degree intentional murder
- One count of second-degree unintentional murder
- Prohibited person in possession of a firearm
Mr. Abdi was not sentenced on the lesser included count of second-degree unintentional murder.
“My thoughts are with Jabraun’s loved ones today,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “This was another instance of senseless gun violence that took a life. No sentence can bring Jabraun back, but Mr. Abdi is being held accountable for his actions.”
Mr. Abdi currently has 254 days of credit for time already served.
