Joshua Anthony Jones sentenced to 420 months for 2024 shootings
9/5/2025
Joshua Anthony Jones, 36, was sentenced Friday to 420 months on two intentional second-degree murder charges, stemming from separate incidents in Minneapolis that occurred within hours of each other on September 18, 2024. Jones pled guilty to both murders in July 2025, admitting that in the early morning hours on September 18, 2024, he intentionally murdered Roland Scott Littleowl (27-CR-24-22230), and that less than 12 hours later, he shot and murdered Robert Milton Brown (27-CR-24-21550).
“Joshua Jones’ actions on September 18th forever changed the lives of so many people.” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “While nothing will bring Mr. Brown or Mr. Littleowl back to their loved ones, this lengthy sentence will ensure that Mr. Jones cannot harm anyone else.”
Case Number: 27-CR-24-22230 and 27-CR-24-21550
