Hennepin County Attorney’s Office secures guilty plea from William Sanders for 2024 shooting, sentenced to 400 months
9/18/2025
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office secured a guilty plea Thursday from William Howard Sanders, 39. He was sentenced in the same hearing to 400 months.
Mr. Sanders pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree intentional murder for killing De’Jaun Hall, 24, in a shooting on Sept. 3, 2024.
“This was a terrible act of violence. Mr. Sanders needlessly escalated an argument by drawing and using a firearm to kill De’Jaun Hall,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “My thoughts are with De’Jaun’s family as this case is resolved. We can do nothing to return the person they lost but Mr. Sanders will be held accountable, and our community is safe from further harm at his hands.”
Mr. Sanders has 380 days of credit for time already served.
