Hennepin County Attorney’s Office secures convictions on all counts against Marquan Tucker in December 2024 shooting

5/8/2026

Marquan Deshaun Tucker, 21, was convicted today on numerous violent offenses, including second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder, both with additional counts related to gang activity.

On Dec. 7, 2024, Mr. Tucker fired approximately sixteen rounds toward two victims exiting a business on the 8000 block of Brooklyn Blvd in Brooklyn Park. One victim was declared deceased at the scene, and another was taken to the hospital for injuries to the neck and leg.

“This was a senseless tragedy that took the life of a young person and forever altered the lives of so many others,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “My thoughts are with the family and loved ones of everyone affected. Today’s conviction holds Mr. Tucker accountable for his actions and ensures he cannot cause further harm to the community. I’m grateful to the jury for their service and to our trial team and victim support staff for their tireless work.”

Sentencing is scheduled for June 10 at 9 a.m.
