7/23/2025
Joshua Anthony Jones, 37, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of second-degree intentional murder and, under the terms of the plea negotiation, will be sentenced to 420 months.
Mr. Jones shot at three people in the early morning of Sept. 18, 2024, killing Roland Scott Little Owl, seriously injuring another individual, and terrorizing a third. He then shot and killed Robert Milton Brown that afternoon and targeted a fifth person in the evening before being taken into custody.
“Mr. Jones is being held accountable for this extreme violence,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “His actions terrified our community and led to the deaths of Roland Little Owl, Robert Brown, and serious injury and emotional trauma to three others. My thoughts are with Roland and Robert’s family and all others impacted by Mr. Jones.”
Mr. Jones is currently scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 5 at 1 p.m.
